FEES AND REBATES

There are a number of rebates and government initiatives that enable families to access funding for speech pathology assessment and therapy.

Private Health Insurance

We are registered with all major health funds. Many of our fees can be claimed back through your private health insurance. We recommend you contact your fund to discuss your individual situation.

Enhanced Primary Care Plan (Medicare)

Children with ongoing needs may be eligible for 5 Medicare funded sessions under the Enhanced Primary Care Plan. This schedule is only for children who have chronic care needs and is initiated by your General Practitioner. Helping Children with Autism Medicare Rebates

Children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) may be eligible to claim rebates up until the child turns 13 years of age. Helping Children with Autism – FaHCSIA funding

Children who are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder are eligible to access financial assistance for early intervention up until the child turns 7 years of age. Southern Sydney Speech, Language and Learning Clinic is approved as a member of the Early Intervention Panel and can provide services for families using their FaHCSIA funding.

Better Start for Children with Disability Initiative- FAHCSIA Funding

The Better Start for Children with Disability initiative provides funding for early intervention services.

Children under 6 years of age are eligible for the Better Start program if diagnosed with one of the following disabilities:

Cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Deafblindness, Fragile X syndrome with full mutation, Hearing 

Impairment, Sight Impairment, Williams Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome….please refer to the complete 

list of disabilities on the Better Start website. Southern Sydney Speech, Language and Learning Clinic is 

approved to provide services for families using this funding.
